We are looking for a Head of Office for Region North

With us, you will have an important mission where you work with current societal issues influenced by what is happening in our environment. This is an exciting leadership role for you who enjoys working in an organization characterized by continuous change and development.

Region North has about 2,000 employees and is one of the agency's three regions. The operations in the region encompass all types of the agency's case categories and detention and are organized into 9 sections, about 90 units, and a regional office. The region is headquartered in Sundbyberg with operations from Flen to Boden. In the coming years, significant changes will occur in many of the Migration Agency's areas, and the organization will be continuously adjusted and changed to provide the best possible conditions for development.

What does a Head of Office do?

You are responsible for leading, managing, and developing the work of the office. The office is an important function to support regional and section management as well as a contact point for other functions within the agency. This means that you lead the work with forecasting and analysis as well as results and goal follow-up for the region. You prepare action plans, process cases, work with investigations, opinions, and consultations, and not least, you are responsible for and develop the administrative support to the regional director.

The office is a crucial hub in the region's operations. Collaborating, coordinating, and maintaining various processes to ensure a holistic perspective, packaging complex information so that it becomes easily understandable for managers and employees, as well as involving collaboration partners both internally and externally are key areas for this position.

The work is characterized by a fast pace, at times short deadlines, and a wide variety of tasks. As the Head of Office, you are responsible for ensuring that the office's operations are conducted with a focus on quality and efficiency. The role includes managerial responsibility for employees, budget, and working environment within the office. The office consists of 22 employees with expertise in areas such as finance, governance, and operational issues.

As a leader, you create conditions for a developing and positive work climate that allows employees to grow in their roles and carry out their tasks in the best way. You harness and strengthen the drive that exists among employees and through participation, engagement, and focus on our applicants. You lead with courage, empathy, and clarity. You will be part of the region's management team and report to the regional director.

You will have broad contact areas, so it is important that you are someone with a good ability to create constructive and lasting collaborations. You lead with courage, empathy, and clarity.

Requirements

  • Academic education deemed relevant by the employer for the position.
  • Current and relevant leadership experience.
  • Experience in leading and developing employees in a changing organization.
  • Experience from working within government administration – thereby acquiring good insight into governance and planning in Swedish public administration.
  • Ability to express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of the Migration Agency's processes.
  • Experience working at a strategic management level and/or experience in strategic management group work.
  • Knowledge of labor law and experience in MBL negotiations.

Information

Employment type: Temporary position for up to two years while the regular Head of Office is on another assignment within the agency.
Working hours: office hours with the possibility of an agreement on trust-based working hours.
We apply individual salary setting.
Location: Sundbyberg. The position involves travel within the country.
Start date: By agreement.
